Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old — or 16, if you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom — to create an account or contribute to this site. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

Your content and the license you grant

You keep ownership of anything you contribute. By submitting a contribution to The Ever Changing Story, you grant the website owner a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, translate, publish, and display it — in whole or in part, as part of the collaborative story or otherwise.

You also waive any moral rights you may have in your contribution — including the right to be identified as its author and the right to object to it being edited, adapted, or altered — to the extent permitted by law. This is necessary because the story is written collaboratively: later contributors, and the voting process itself, can and do change the context around your text, and a later cycle can replace it with a different accepted version entirely.

Originality

You guarantee that any work you submit is your own original work and does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property rights. Submitting someone else's work as your own violates these Terms and may result in your account being terminated.

Prohibited content

You may not submit content that is illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, gratuitously violent, defamatory, or otherwise offensive. Every accepted contribution can be flagged by any reader using the site's report option. The website owner reserves the right to remove any contribution, and to restrict or terminate any account, at any time and without notice, at our sole discretion.

Copyright infringement

If you believe a contribution on this site infringes your copyright, contact us at contact@theeverchangingstory.com with (a) a description of the copyrighted work, (b) the location of the infringing contribution on the site, and (c) your contact information. We will investigate and, where appropriate, promptly remove or disable access to the infringing contribution.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the website owner from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your use of the site, your contributions, or your violation of these Terms — including, without limitation, any claim that your contribution infringes a third party's intellectual property rights or violates the law.

Limitation of liability

The website owner is not liable for damages arising from your use of this website.

Governing law and jurisdiction
